high purity germanium detectors for gamma spectroscopy

In the mid-seventies, gamma spectroscopy was revolutionized by the introduction of the high purity germanium detector. Prior to this, high resolution gamma detectors were made of lithium compensated germanium detectors were made of lithium compensated germanium material which had to be maintained at liquid nitrogen temperatures even when not in use. Advances in technology allowed germanium material to be produced sufficient purity and structure as to not require compensation. The result was a detector which could be safely temperature cycled.

It is the goal of every detector manufacturer to produce their own high purity germanium material. This requires an enormous investment in equipment and talent. Since 1982 Tennelec has been one of the success of our production facility led us to the introduction of our own detectors in 1986.

Tennelec offers three series of these detectors in both horizontal and vertical configurations featuring the Uniline cryostat. The three series are the CP series, CN series and the new innovative ER series. We maintain a vast inventory of detectors ready for immediate shipment. For more detailed information on these detectors return the attached response card. If your needs are more immediate, contact your local Tennelec sales represantative or the factory direct to reserve your specific detector.
